If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Dr. W. A. Criswell brings a message from the Book of 2 Timothy, The gospel of the second chance. the gospel of beginning again, the gospel of God’s use of the weaknesses of men.

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
