Dr. W.A. Criswell brings the eleven o’clock morning message entitled New Testament Christianity. Not as a text, but just out of an observation of the Ephesian ministry of the apostle Paul, “This continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks” [Acts 19:10]. And in the words of a bitter antagonist, a silversmith whose god factory was being threatened by the preaching of this man Paul, gathering his fellow workmen and his fContinue Reading

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having sevenContinue Reading

The Judgment of God Upon Babylon

Date: February 24th, 1963  |  Scripture: Revelation 18:3-10  |  Topics: Babylon, Destruction, Scarlet Woman

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and doubContinue Reading

The Judgment of God Upon Babylon

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of tContinue Reading

His Faith Is Counted for Righteousness

Date: February 24th, 1963  |  Scripture: Romans 4:1-5  |  Topics: Abraham, Good, Hagar, Justification, Righteousness, Sarai

What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

The Minister’s Plea for His Church

Date: March 3rd, 1963  |  Scripture: Philippians 1:12-19  |  Topics: Bride, Bridegroom, Church, Lamb, Marriage Supper, Unction

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add afflictContinue Reading

The Marriage of the Lamb

Date: March 3rd, 1963  |  Scripture: Revelation 19:1-10  |  Topics: Bride, Bridegroom, Church, Lamb, Marriage Supper, Unction

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshiped God that satContinue Reading

To Them That Are Lost

Date: March 3rd, 1963  |  Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:1-10  |  Topics: Blindness, Eternity, Fire, Hell, Lost, Saved

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is tContinue Reading
