And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

It is the purpose of God to set up a kingdom in this earth. When God made the man, He placed him here in order that he might have dominion over all the works of God’s hands. And that precipitated the tragic intrusion of Satan, for Satan was “the cherub that covereth” [Ezekiel 28:14], and all of God’s creation was under his surveillance, and he was responsible to God for it.
