And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This is the pastor bringing a message at Christmas time entitled The Miracle of the Incarnation, or, The Miracle of the Virgin Birth. In the passage that we read together a moment ago, “And the Word was God … and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The Miracle of the Incarnation: “And the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled among us” [John 1:1, 14].

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
